Privacy
This is a placeholder. The full privacy policy and terms will be published here before StudyBook opens accounts. Until then, this page says plainly what is kept.
Without an account
Everything you make — highlights, notes, quotes, lessons, web clips, settings — is kept in your browser on your own device, and nowhere else. StudyBook has no advertising and no tracking, and this page sets no cookies.
With an account
An account keeps a copy in StudyBook’s database (Supabase) so it can reach your other devices:
- your email address, and your password in a form that cannot be read back;
- your notes and highlights, quotes, lessons, web clips and settings;
- your study time, by day and device;
- for study groups, if you use them: the name and username you choose, your friends, your groups and their messages, and the highlights and notes you decide to share.
Nothing is sold, and nothing is used for advertising. Deleting your account in Settings removes it and what it holds.
What leaves StudyBook
- Ask StudyBook. A question, and the passages found for it, are sent to Anthropic to write the answer. Questions and answers are not stored on the server; only a daily count is, to keep within limits. Your recent questions stay on your device.
- Web clips. When you bring in a page by its address, the address is recorded with the time, to keep within a daily limit.
- Maps. Map pictures come from CARTO and OpenStreetMap, and a place you type is looked up with OpenStreetMap’s search services (Photon and Nominatim), as in any web map.
